Frequent burn fail random part of the disc

    Hi, I keep getting burn error while burning DVD-R. I am using Verbatim 16X.

    anyone has any clue what's wrong? The burn fails at random part of the disc.

    These two are both telling you that you're burning at a very rapid rate. Regulate your speed anywhere from 6X-8X.

    Firmware is up to date. It looks like pryme_H said. The main thing standing out is you are trying to burn at 16x. Burn at 8x and see if it makes it. Failing that try Ty media. Some reports are coming out with India made verbatims being crappy.

    thanks for the reply. but the supposely Verbatim DVD-R is 16X and is from Japan, rumours say is by TY. Did something went wrong? I also had problems burning Verbatim DVD+R DL 8X at the mentioned specs.

    in anyway, i was able to burn quite a many of the DVD-R at 16x originally.

    The top speed of my car is 160kph (100mph) but that doesnt mean that I have to run it at that speed...you have been given some sound advice about burning at top speed...you may have been lucky in the past but obviously you are now having problems. It is recommended to burn at half the rated speed of the disc, in this case you are using 16X discs so burn no faster than 8X
