I have a softmodded Xbox with EvoX dashboard installed. I want to FTP into my Xbox so I can get the eeprom and stuff to upgrade my Hard Drive. I have read all of the tutorials on FlashFXP on how to connect via a crossover cable but none of them work it always says that my network has timed out. I have set static IP to yes I made sure that the FTP option was set to yes. However in one of the guides it talks about right clicking internet properties, however, since I have Windows Vista that isn't there for me. What should I do?

It is just not connecting for some reason, I have turned all Firewalls off so that shouldn't be the problem. I can't even do it in Windows XP (Mom's laptop) with Firewall turned off.

    Any ideas?

I've tried IE, Windows Explorer, CuteFTP, FlashFXP, Firefox

All the same result "connection timed out"

I did the "Ping [xbox IP]" in the Run -> Command and it couldn't recieve anything. I think that is a problem. How do I fix that?

Yes I am using port 21.

And guys I really appreciate the help you are giving me. I can do most of modding stuff myself its just networking ALWAYS screws me up... always. I just can't ever get it to work for me. Once I do the FTP I shouldn't have any trouble running XboxHDM and installing a new hard drive.

BTW if you have any tips for Windows XP I have a computer to use running that OS as well. I would just like to get Vista working so that I can use my own computer and don't have to borrow someone elses.
