I noticed that the mario games cause DRE's.

And games where Text is supported by Voice (some RPG's)
The tweak is not to prevent these type of DRE's but
    to increase media compatibility

For 90% of the people this works.
    (I have no DRE's whatsoever)

    Good luck.

I just want to know if DRE are when you see the red gamecube message or when you see a "[bold]disc cannot be read[bold]" with the game font ?

    Thanks

Yes, DRE = Disc Read Error. So whenever the disc cant be read :) Some people say RDE: Read Disc Error.

ok, So does lowering the Ohm's increase reliability?

I have these Optodiscs i burned 2 games, they both do not work.

It doesnt improve reliability but disc compatability... in fact it could half the life of your drives laser unit, but IMHO its worth it

Now this is a very wierd trick i findout while testing some games that dident work when i made a backup on them... i dont know if it have been posted before, but anyway here it goes. If u have burned a backup game that wont work after swaped the disc u can try this. When it stand "swap disk now" fast put on the backup disk, then the orginal disk over the backuped disk with the silver matrial "down". I did tryed that and some strange how the the mostly game that i burned that wont work at all or then laser got heavy problem to read, worked with that..hrm..trick. It wont be good for the diskmotor drive i guess in the long...but it works! Give it a try out there and reply if it works for you guys to :)

    Cheers/mrdj

    MrDJ

Putting 2 8CM disks on top op eachother only decreases the rotation speed of the DVD.

This similar effect can be created when using a full sized DVD-R
(twice the matrial of 8M disk)

What you did is not good cause the discs might not spin correctly.
    (out of their central point)

    Thanks for ur answer Speedi.

I guess your right on that becouse i dont know what i did, it just worked lol. But im sure as u say it cant be good becouse the disc will not spin correctly.

Anyway..i did burn the games in 2x, then they worked perfectly. Those i tryed that dubbel dvd thing on where those who i burned 4x and got problem with reading it (dirty disk error)

    greeting/mrdj

I had my cube modded the value was 380 then set to 210 everything worked fine for 3/ 4 weeks and now after 15 min play time the cube says can't read the disk's (even original games in original BIOS) changed value's up and down but same result.
CUBE heating fan runs ok ??
what could be the problem (by a new cube ?)

I'm thinking your laser is just dirty
Clean your laser with a q-tip and some alcohol and get back to me

Also upgrade your bios to 1.1
