I have made backup's of a few of my games but they wont play on my PS2 even though I have had it chipped! The chip im using needs a boot up cd for it to work. My mate has a messiah chip and they boot up first time no probs. Does anybody no why?

Also does region x boot up dvd-r?

    Cheers

I'm kinda new to all of this, but I believe the messiah has the no-swap method, so you don't need a boot disk, and yours does, as you said...so that's probably the reason. I can't help you with the other question, I don't even know if I helped u with this one, lol

From what i know you can't start DVD backups with Region X. Because the modchip that startsup with Region X is probably Neo 2.2 or something like that. The answer is no.
Get a proper chip like messiah or magic 2/3.

And yes the Messiah don't need a swap-thing.

I have the messiah and he is my best friend since i bought him.
