hi, i have recently bought a ps3 and have a quick question, if i were to convert a ps3 hdmi cable to dvi (so that it would connect to my hdtv)i would get my picture but no sound. i cannot use an optical cable as my tv does not support this. if i were to use the red and white cables out of the composite set that came with the ps3, would i get sound? If so, would there be any special steps i would need to take? or alternatively, does anyone know of another way i can do this? thanks a lot for any help :)

i think i can as i looked on the internet and i found some decent hdmi to dvi converters and i also found out that through the xmb --> settings --> sound settings and in there i saw an option which allowed for me to select what port the sound came from so i think that if i leave my compostie cable in, unplug the yellow one , put in the hdmi cable with the hdmi 2 dvi converter attached to it and that plugged into my tv, i think it should just about work. can anyone confirm this?
