not unless you put more ram into system & increase video ram to 128 or higher in bios

In a Dell Dimension 3000 I think it's a PCI slot but I've read that it lacks the ability to upgrade the video because it doesn't have the right type of PCI slot. If this isn't the case what type of card does anyone recommend? I would like to go as high as the system would allow

    Thanks again

it should have a PCI slot, not all have AGP slots, go and check, but if you got a AGP slot more power to you. all motherboards produced dating back to like 5 or more years should have a pci slot, if any one wants to correct me go ahead i dont seem to sound like a know it all

    Hi again,

Assuming that I have PCI what would be a good choice for a PCI video card?

    So if I have a PCI /e or /x I can't upgrade the video?
    How would I know?

you'll more than likely have pci slots than pci/e as pci/e is on new boards

He has to have an AGP slot. P4 2.4GHz, 512MB Ram. I highly doubt he doesn't have an AGP slot.

Isn't PCI/e the new one and PCI/x the old slot used in servers? Something like that I thought?

No, only the most new systems are shipped out with PCI-E, a system like that from last year wouldnt. All you have to do is either find a picture of your motherboard from google....or take a photo of it. Theres a program called Aida32 that will tell you your complete specs in great detail. If you dont do any of these things dont expect any more help from me, i feel like im running around in circles...
