I normally find all my answers on here and normally don't have to post my own question. I couldn't find this one on here. Forgive me if it's here somewhere , but didn't do enough research.

    Anyway here it goes.

My hard drive died and my XP was on it. Now this is one of those computers that have XP preinstalled. I still have the XP key , but not the actual software itself. When I install a new hard drive how do I recover my XP. Will Microsoft send me a copy as long as i have my key?

    Thanks for any help.

You should have gotten a "Recovery CD" or something similar with your computer. This has Windows XP on it, and will work only on your brand of computer. Do you have anything like this?

i would look for the recover disc as mentioned. If not then call the company who sold it to you because every system preinstalled with Windows should have come with a Windows disc to reinstall it.
