    Hey there

    I have a 30gb HDD which is set to master (jumper settings) and I'm having difficulty setting it to a slave drive. I'm not sure what jumper settings I have to set it to, and I'm not sure how to remove the jumper pin either. The HD is an old 30gb Maxtor HDD 3.5 series "fireball"

    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

    @Mikah,

    When I have a hard time getting the jumper pin out, I use a paper clip. Setting to slave drive depends on your hard drive. There should be a picture or a description on where to set your pin to have it on slave.

    Mik, does it show a picture on the top of the drive close to the front? put the jumper so that it is parallel to the top of the drive across any 2 top pins of the 1st 4 pins closes to the ide connector. i have a 20gig in my hand as i'm typing this. what is the make of the master drive as in maxtor, wd or seagate?
