i have my friends computer and am trying to fix it for him. evry time you start the computer it says ntldr is missing resart the computer. i tried the xp cd to fix it that didn't work so i reformatted the hdd and tried installing windows xp again. when i get to the partition part of installing and create a ntfs partition it give me the blue screen of death this is after formatting the hard drive. i don't know what he did to screw his computer up, was wondering if the hard drive is no good anymore and if he should just buy a new one. any help would be appreciated thanks.

    hi damian,
The error "ntldr is missing" usualy means the computer is booting from a non-bootable source or the Hard drive isnt set up proberly in BIOS.
Have you made sure the HD is set as master in bios? Also did you check jumpers on the HD and the cd/dvd drive?
