Okay, maybe somebody out there can help me. I installed a Lite-On 165SH6S. When I insert any given audio CD, it skips and pops during playback-I can hear the CD oscillating through playback. It gets better, when I insert a DVD, the entire system crashes and reboots-blue screen. Any takers?

have you looked at master/slave configuration if more than one burner/player?

That would also be my guess.
Burners generally like to be the "Master", on the IDE chain. Some mobo's prefer you set the drive(s) to "Cable Select".
See if this makes a difference for you.
    Good luck!
