I just got my HD Advanced and HD and was wondering if all I can do with the harddrive is put games on it? Can I not transfer memory card files to it or put emulators on it? My ps2 is unmodded if that is of any significance.

Well you can also use it to save maps, and additional information when playing Socom II Online, or FFXI Online.

According to the best of my knowlegde, it is not yet possible to transfer memory card files to the hard drive connected to the ps2, but it is possible to transfer game saves to your computer with Action Replay MAX http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&ProdID=211

Not only can you save memory card data, it also has a built in genesis emulator, so you can play retro games. It also has a media player so you can compile a cd-r full of avi movie files and mp3s

I don't know why, but it seems like there are two different Action Replay MAX's for the PS2, one with more features(the one listed above), and one that works like an ordinary gameshark: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/237338.asp

my HD is not a sony one, it is a maxtor... the usb memory card sounds awesome but can i not do anything with the hd alone, like access the hd from the menu (keeping in mind its not a "ps2" hard drive)?
