yes bul-ray is better, but it is going to be just like when vhs and beta first came out, beta was better quailty all around just like blu-ray, but hd will be the market or lets say the consumer will say that hddvd will be the one to win in the format war

I assume you are referring to VHS over Beta. However, the Internet wasn't around then so I see the availability of porn far less of a factor.

I read that porn went with Blu ray. BlockBuster has gone with Blu ray only.

I don't know that there will be a winner. I think there's room for both formats. LG has a universal player (plays both), and Samsung has one coming soon, if it's not already out. I think they'll both be around for a long time. Just like there never was a clear winner between SACD and DVD-A music discs. Both are still around, and both still release new titles. Just not as often as some of us would like.

VHS won out over Beta, because of recording times. Beta recorded 5 hrs. max, and VHS recorded 6 hrs. to start with, and even went to 8 hr. tapes, if you wanted them.

both are expensive now, so wichone is the way to go, obvously the bigger one wich is 50gig blur-ray is the winner cuz it's designed for the future, stuff keeps getting bigger and bigger one of these days will proabbly stop using mp3 and swtich to a higher quality filetype , stuff keeps getting better and bigger and 30 ain't enough
that's why ps3 is also better than any other console cuz it's really next gen the wii and the 360 are current gen running with dvd's plus h fact that they already are running to almost 100% physical capacity anyway blu ray is better
if sony sells hd dvd they just want to make money remmber they rely on sales

and practice that english i'm not american and i'm being understood right?? am i??

    you're understood..........
Sony won't sell HD DVDs. They helped develop Blu ray, so that's all they'll sell.

They helped develop SACD, and that was all they sold. Kinda stupid, I think.

yes what it all boils down too is money !!! and if your a Electronics or media manufacturer and your Format is the Defacto Standard or one of the two (Usually ) that are still standing after the shake out process !!! You make more of it !!! because of something called licensing fees !!!!! assuming you own the patents/rights to said format or formats!!! anyone wanting to Manufacture those Devices , Disc ?, ect... has to pay you Royalties? ( I think that's the right legal term) to do so ! or face legal action from your attorneys ! & the courts ! & of cousre sometimes some comapnies come out with Proprietary formats ( Elcasette, MD ect ..) well maybe MD is'nt totally proprietary some companies other than sony make them But it's basically a Sony Format !!!) Paddawan does have a point as well ! personal opinions and definitions of porn notwithstanding !!! VCR's really Took off because of porn !!! in the end like DVD+R & DVD-R , High Speed interrnet (CABLE) & DSL there will be two competing standards assuming of course cost and capability are similar !!! But then Being somewhat of a Techno-Luddite I'm still waiting for DVD+R DL media to drop pricewise closer to SL media ( It could happen " Judy Tenuda !!!!!!!!!!" So what do I know ??? and on the not being a Native English speaker/writer even some of us who are don't say or write things correctly all the time either so hang in there bud we get your meaning !!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with what ever you choose Ciao!!!!!

Bluray has got better storage capacity so to my point of bluray is better, but this format is ridiculous because it is customer who are losing money and value, then the manufacturer.
If i have either player and i won't be able to watch my favourite on hi-def if it comes out one player exclusive
can anyone erase the worth exclusive from dictionary

You be the judge, just the other week on the news was announced Transformers sold an astounding 188,000 HD-DVD units ( I think it was HD-DVD) the most ever for a hi def disc. At the same time, the regular dvd of Transformers sold 18.2 million units. You be the judge, do the math.

Only the Blockbuster Stores are limited to BluRay disks. BB Online still serves up both BR and HD DVD disks.
