I just bought the hdloader and a maxtor 120 gb hdd. Problem is the hdloader menu screen says my hdd is only 114 gb and i only have 110 free space, but i dont have any games on it yet? Do i need to reformat again? Also someone mentioned putting dvd-9 games on hdd but didnt explain, anyone know how to do this? I really appreciate the help in advance!

Time for a quick lesson on storage. when they label hard drives, they say 120gb, which really means 120 billion bytes.

    120,000,000,000 / 1024 = 117187500 KB
    96774193548 KB / 1024 = 114440 MB
    114440 MB / 1024 = ~111 gigs.

So, there is nothing wrong. Its the same way with blank dvd's, they say 4.7gb, but they are really 4.37gigs.

actually the HD loader makes a small partition (fake) its to do with how a sony HDD is really formatted, that is why you are losing some space. and yes, a 120GB never formats to 120GB, more like 117 GB then minus the 3GB HDLOADER PARTITION FORMAT. 114GB approx.
