I have a flad screen hd tv that has both hdmi inputs,2 sets, and composite input, 1 set. The set top uses 1 hdmi, leaving the 2nd empty. I use the composite to connect the desktop to the tv using a pc/tv converter.

I would like to use the 2nd hdmi as an input from a vcr composite out. Does a composite/hdmi adapter cable work? Or do I need a composite to hdmi converter BOX plus hdmi cable to serve this purpose? If a cable alone will not work why not? Suggestions please. The vcr input will come from the desktop with or without a selctor switch and/or the set top composite out, 1 set. The tv has a coax tv input, 2 hdmi, and one composite all selecteble using the remote. I could use a simple coax cable for vcr to tv connectionas well. The quality is vcr dependent so coax may be the way to go dispensing with hdmi. advice please?
