    folks

have an issue with maxtor diamonmax9 hard drive.
essentially was all working fine in external caddy plugged in to laptop via usb.
now when i try and use it, the drive doesn't appear to spin up.
other drives in the same caddy work fine, just this one.

not ideal, since it has 120Gb of my cds on, so am somewhat annoyed!

any ideas, bar the freezer trick? - would it make a difference plugging it in to desktop pc? (haven't got one at present)

failing that, any ideas on data recovery places in canada - that do a reasonably cheap job?

    cheers in advance
