I tried searching through the forums, but there's so much info to comprehend. I need this stuff spelled out for me. I am thinking about buying the HDLoader and using a spare HD I have laying around. However, the PS2 that I have has a burnt out (well... partially) laser. I can read some games but cannot read others. I have already tried taking it apart and adjusting the gear and cleaning the lens... didn't work. So, I would assume that once (or even if) I get the HDLoader onto the HD I would probably have problems reading the different games when trying to rip them. Sooooooo... my question is what is the easiest way to get the games onto the hard drive without a mod chip? If it helps, I have the new slim PS2 also.

first off hdloader will not work with the slim ps2 , you need usb advance . i beleave you can put games on a hd using naplink (i could be wrong) but how do you expect to boot the usb advance disc/hd loader if your laser is cooked ?
