I got a HDLoader package which contained a
    ps2 networkadapter and a psXchange-cd instead of
a HDloader-cd. Anyone knows what to use it for and/or
    how to use this?

    I got it from HK.
Can it be also used on ps2?
So I can boot ps1 backups on my ps2.

Yes, it works with PS2 but you need a fliptop or slidecard to use it.

I use the swap method with AR.
I tried to boot the psXchange using AR but I
got a black screen with a large psx logo in the
    lower right corner. That's all...

why are you using AR to boot it?

one of my mates would use psXchange with his ps and it worked like this if I remember correctly:
Load psXchange > @ the black screen with white text swap for backup and press X.
