I've managed to rip a dvd using smartripper, and have copied it to dvdr but it will only play on my p.c and not my dvd player,I used nero to burn to dvdr and burnt my video_ts folder to it selecting dvd(udf)as the option,is it wrong and if so how can I make sure I don't get any more p.c only dvdr's,my pioneer is the dv545 which play's more or less anything!

    Hey,

I might have some useful advice for you.
Odds are that if the dvd copy plays on your PC you have correctly copied the dvd. But,if your dvd player doesn't have DVDR or CDR capabilities you are out of luck. A good way to find out if its you dvd player is to take your copied dvd into Best Buy or another electronics retailer that will give you hands on time with their merchandise. Atempt to play
your disk on one of the newest models of dvd players (preferably Sony) that say DVDR or CDR on the product description. If it works you know what you need to do. P.S. It worked for me.

yeah, or head on over to www.vcdhelp.com (which should be back up soon) and click on "DVD Player Compatibility" to get a list of what DVD players are compatible with what.
