Help! Can't uninstall dvd drive without windows xp crashing!

    I have 2 dvd drives in my computer and I uninstalled one and took it out a couple days ago. Everything would be that fine including restarting the computer but every new day my computer won't start winxp unless I put the dvd drive back in. Is something installing the dvd rom back in every day before I do or something? How can I make it stop?

    have you got it set as the boot drive in the bios, if so just disable it.

    thanks man, I twiddled around with it but I ended up formatting everything lol. But I'll remember your advice next time!
