Hi everyone, I would like to ask if what should I do to automatically attach subtitle when the video is played in VLC? I just downloaded a subtitle for this movie and I want that when I'll play it, the subtitle is automatically attached and played too.

For .srt subtitles, the subtitle should have the same name as the video, example:
video.avi and video.srt and be in the same folder (e.g. both on the Desktop)

There is a free program from Bullzip ( http://www.bullzip.com/products/cfn/info.php ) which has proven invaluable. It adds a context menu item so that you can copy the filename, folder name, path name to the clipboard and then apply that in a rename operation. Easy to get the SRT and the video name (less extension) exactly the same.
