I want to upgrade and get a new dvd rom, I have a LiteOn832S-DL dvd burner, should I get a liteon dvd rom?. What is a good one that is not too expensive that I can buy and any recommendations on where to purchase it. Thanks, Steve G.
Where abouts do you live sjg1999xp and what price range you talking. Is this to be your main drive for backing up.
I live in Jersey,I figured maybe ordering one on-line. I was thinking as much as 70. if that is feasible, I paid that for my dvd liteon burner. This will be my main drive, I think. I will have this and my dvd burner so yes I believe this is my main drive. Thanks
Well you can't go wrong with a Lite-on dvd rom.I keep thinking of getting shut of my Lite-on drive for a NEC 3500.But as it is only just a year old and i love the drive i'm finding it hard to part with. _X_X_X_X_X_[small] The Greatest football team in the world Asus A7V8X-X XP2800+,2x120gb,1.5gb Ram Ati 128mb Graphics,Lite-on 411S NEC 2510A os windows xp sp1[/small]

Make that $27.99 ... the Lite On XJ-HD 166S is NOT a burner I posted about a week ago (in the DVD-ROM drives forum / Best Drive at Reading Problem DVDs thread), sig1999xp, and everyone seemed to like the Lite On XJ-HD 166s
I am unable to get to that link or find that model on newwegg website, please advise when you get a chance...Thanks
There's two at this link: the first is black and refurbished, the second is beige and out of stock until 10/7
Thanks alot, I see it now, is it bad to go with a refurbished, I do prefer black though, what do you think?
I prefer new, though I know people who have had good success with refurbished . Here's another link for a new black drive for $28.99 ... http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_info.php?products_id=3602&osCsid=682d085f087cc37699b8f39491673a60
