Help! Just sold 20 DVDs and the buyer can't play them!

It's interesting to note when perusing ImgBurn's forums you get these comments by LIGHTNING UK!.

For the purposes of this guide, I'm just going to create an entry for discs using the TYG02 dye (they're my favourite ).

I'm using 8x because I know the 'TYG02' dye is just about the best you can get and that I will get good quality burns at that speed.

But, what does he know.

 

@MysticE...........there are many people.... including myself...... that only burn with Taiyo Yuden.:-D

 

That's all I use too. Twice I've gotten a bad batch of Verbs. TY's never give me a problem.

 

I know that, but LIGHTNING UK!'s choice aren't the ones you burn. TYG02 = Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 4.7GB

 

TYs are all good!!!!

 

Update

I used the following settings with perfect results...NO complaints of DVD incompatibility.

Taiyo Yuden 16x DVD+R Discs
Output VIDEO_TS to HD folder from DVD Authoring software
Burned VIDEO_TS files with IMGBURN as recommended by you all
Burn Speed: 8x
Booktype set to DVD-ROM

keith, it was probably a combo between the Ritek media (which is mid-grade stuff) and the high burn speed you used. using the TY or Verbatim DVD dash R burning at 8x will work fine also

 

Will definitely not work on one of my players...only DVD+R booktyped to DVD-ROM.

 

been getting alot of probs with RITEK GO5 8x lately, (used these for 4 years) so been useing verbatim with TYGO3 dye, not a prob so far and the verbs are -R works on about 7 different players thus far.
