I just purchased a Shiba Inu. This is a small Japanese dog that is brown and tan. Very cute.

I would like to have suggestions for his (male) name.

Please supply the meaning of the name as well.

As I do not speak Japanese, I need the help from someone who does.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Ritual suicide by disembowelment formerly practiced by Japanese samurai. Also called hara-kiri.

    How about Kamikaze

Kamikaze (from kami meaning "god" and kaze meaning "wind") is a Japanese word — usually translated as 'divine wind' — which came into being as the name of a typhoon

However, when used in English — except perhaps in historical and scholarly works — the word is usually understood to refer to Japanese suicide attack

rottenegger, Looks like you don't like dogs. Beware of someone who does not like dogs. That's what I have always heard.

    Thanks for your comment.

I love dogs. Saints, german shepherds, pekingese, etc are all dogs i have had at one time or another.
I also know dogs. Don't feed them right and you will know of the Divine Wind. Sorry to make light of your search of name for your dog. Hope you find one to make you happy. Little dogs live a long time.

P.S. Name calling? Why single me out. The answers do not really matter to me. I know and judge myself. But I see a lot of people in the world that should not be allowed the responsibility to care for another life. I started it, so I will finish. Sorry once more.
    yar
