    Hi,

I would appreciate it very much if somebody could help me with this problem.

I need to copy a DVD to VCD and to have the subtitles burned in.

The film is "The 7 Samurais" by Akira Kurosava and the sound track is in Japanese, which is good being this an important film, but without the subtitles one would not understand anything of the film.

I do not have problems with the copying of the film itself but have no experience with subtitles.

I have read the guide which explains how to rip and burn the subtitles using VobSub and Virtualdub/Nandub and the problems start here. The first thing the guides tells you to do is "At first you'll have to extract vobsub.dll to your VirtualDub/Plugins directory and rename it to vobsub.vdf." and then to load this .vdf file into the plungin list of Virtualdub. When I do this I get the message from Virtualdub that the file does not contain any Virtualdub filters. And I am stuck here.

I looked for Nandub and found "Nandub 0.21 SBC". The guide says how to install it and gives precise instruction including screen snaps of the installation process, but the files that are mentioned in the guide are not contained in the zip files and when I try to start Nandub.exe it misses the "dynamic link library vorbisfile.dll" which I do not know where to get.

    Please help if you can.

    Thanks.

    Feri.
