If you want to build a website you will need to do a couple of different things. These do not include Photoshop, however, what you design in Photoshop can be placed in your site. Here is one link that you can use as a helpful tool.
    http://www.mardiros.net/design-guidelines.html

Here is another site that gives you a little edge in learning HTML and CSS.
    http://www.html.net/

You can find places like this on the web to host images that you create.
    http://members.freewebs.com/

I hope that helps. Dreamweaver is a fantastic program for coders and designers alike, however, it is also an expensive program. You will learn that with a little knowledge of HTML you can build a site that is simple to host your pages. You do not even need programs to help you do it. In fact you can write CSS pages in notepad just as well.

    Hope this information helps!

I have never used freewebs, so I can't answer the question for you. They have terms and conditions about using their site you can read here. http://members.freewebs.com/page.jsp?page=termsOfUse

They offer easy to use tools, that basically put the code behind the site for you. Some browsers may not view the page the same as other browsers. That is one thing a web designer has to troubleshoot before publishing. The site will probably not give you any advertising tools either. They probably have a larger version of space for hosting with more powerful tools that cost money. I'm not real sure, but for a simple site and only 40MB of space I'm sure that it will work out well for you.

Your new website will appear on the web. Basically all of your files will be sent to their server. Your web address will probably be something like http://freewebs.com/username. They offer a service where you can buy your own domain name, but then you are talking about spending money.

If you could design the website yourself, without using their tools. I say this because any templates that they offer are all CSS code where the HTML will reside. You can copy the HTML but you can not copy the CSS because you do not have access to that directory...

I think I may be talking a little over your head, but in my opinion I would go the free route. If you have time, learn a little HTML and CSS from those sites I provided and learn how to build a basic site for yourself. Then have godaddy.com host it for you. I think they only charge around 5 bucks a month to host your site. You will have to maintain it with updates, they will not manage it for you.

Good luck and let me know if everything works out!!

    sweeto10,
Just found this site which offers web hosting for free as well. I like the looks of this site better than the other one!
