I am trying to create dvd from avi files. I am using tmpg enc and tmpc dvd editor. All appears to be going well until i check the teo created files (MPEG and WAV) The video seems fine but there is no audio recorded just 1GB of silence.

    TMPGEnc isn't good with audio.

Try doing step #2 in this guide:

    http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56454

Otherwise, you can rip the audio separately with VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod (Mod necessary if Avi has AC3 audio) and convert to AC3 if necessary (AC3 is DVD standard...I use BeSweet to encode AC3). Then remux with authoring program.

    Good Luck
