im not one to down a product as most are at least descent, but ive heard nothing but bad things about samsung drives.but im sure it can record games.try some more backups(of different games) so you can get a better idea of what is wrong.trying one game will leave you grasping at straws.

Does this only happen with ps2 games? You could always try some firmware but be carfull because using the wrong firmware can damage your burner, if you are not sure then do not use it. *Use At Your Own Risk*

i wasnt telling you to get a new drive(although if cant even read a disc that is pretty bad)just letting you know samsung has gotten alot of bad reviews.

1.do you have another cd or dvd drive on the pc?

2.see if the disc will read in windows with dvd decrypter off
