help please

    i had asked help acouple of time with my burner who wasnt burning anymore. i tried everything but it wouldnt help

    now i have installed a new burner in my computer (not me my brother did he does it for everyone i know) now i cant do nothing at all not even use the DVD ROM

    please help me my brother says i have to buy a new computer that my motherboard might be Screwed can this really be the case?

    Hey TheV
    Check all the connections on both drives - power too. Make sure all secure in the drives and the port in the motherboard. Might just want to reseat them and make sure snug.

    Check the jumper pins too on the drive - make sure they match the place on the ide cable - i.e. on master connection - jumper set to master.

    i had my brother take a look and everything was fine still cant burn :s

    Ok have your brother or you try uninstalling the ide channel.

    Right click on my computer>properties>hardware>device manager. Then right click on the ide chanell the drives are on & pick uninstall.
    Reboot and let Windows do it's thing and reinstall.

    Still do go - then in device manager uninstall the drives and reboot.
    Same way as ide channel just right click in the drives themselves.
