    Hello,
Can anyone help me? I've been trying to burn a data DVD to no avail. It always fails, and doesn't even get past the lead-in stage... I've been able to burn video DVDs with no problem, but I can't burn a data DVD. Can anyone help me?

The only thing I see is that the burner is not reporting your disk information.Have you switched brands?

This is a similar log where the disk is identified as 'optodisc'

I bought a pack of DVD+Rs... So the ones I used to burn the DVD videos and the ones I'm trying to burn data to are the same. It's weird. Does that mean that I have to switch brands?

dVD or data files it should not make any difference, but all of my logs show the manufacturer of the disk.Your log doesn't.Do any of the logs where you had no problems show the disk information?

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think the "Session Fixation Error" is your problem. It's very sound advice, but it's also just common sense. I don't know about you, but I don't go seek help until after I ruled out the obvious.

I've got the same problem. EXACT same problem. And my disc are not "identified" either. But I know that's not the problem, because I have been using this same exact brand of DVDs for YEARS on this EXACT same burner (bought like 2000 of them on sale for $100 total)...I have plenty of experience with cheap media, and it can cause plenty of bad burns. But if it works fine with video, it should work fine with data.

I have tested and reproduced the symptoms with every decent burning software (Alcohol, Nero, DiscJuggler, etc.) with the same result. Over the years I have had this happen to me a couple of times before, and I fixed it every time. Unfortunately, the fix was a wipe & load of the OS...I can't do that currently, and was hopping for another way. At least I know I am not alone. Did you ever find a solution? Or did you actually get lucky and fix the issue with another brand of dvd? Thanks!
