I'm not going to try to do a code. Too hard. It seems to me that it might be a Security setting on the phone that is causing you this problem. The Phone is designed to store Music etc. Check your security settings. http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_5070_UG_en.pdf
Thanks to both of you! MCCRASH - the code worked and took the lock off - greatly appreciate your help! JoeGons - you are right, it wasn't the lock that stopped me from going ahead. My Nokia Suite info panel says "Make sure that your phone is not locked". I assumed that the lock may have something to do with the inability to connect. My next step will be to follow up the ENHANCEMENTS setting - I only have a charger in there, maybe there should be a cable one as well.
