Ok I tried the following from a post a LONG time ago was hoping someone could really help me:

    ******************************************************
So, because I found not much about copy a DVD-10 (Doubleside/1 Layer - e.g. Armageddon, Starship Troopers ) to one DVD+R I had to try it myself. Finally I got it... it's not very difficulty. I did this with DVDDecrypter, IFOEdit, DVD Shrink and Nero. Just follow these steps:

1.Rip both sides to HDD, use 2 different folders (e.g. /sidea and /sideb)

    2. copy all the .vob files from /sideb to a 3rd folder (e.g. /dvd) and rename them to continue the /sidea files. An example:
    Side A: VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB
    Side B: VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB
Rename the files from Side B:
    VTS_01_4.VOB, VTS_01_5.VOB, VTS_01_6.VOB
Then copy the /sidea files too but without renaming.

3.Now open IFOEdit and click "Create IFOs". Select the first VOB from /dvd and wait till finished.

4.Select VTS_01_0.IFO and click "GetVTS Sectors".

    5. Select the new VTS_01_0.IFO and correct the Cell ID'S in "VTS_PCTITI->VTS_PGC1" and "VTS_C_ADT".
If there are 10 Cells from Side A and 9 from Side B you have to correct the ID's from Side B to 11 - 19 or the chapters will be mixed...

    6. Save the file and quit IFOEdit

    7. Use DVD shrink.

    8. Use Nero.
    ******************************************************

I have all of the following programs and although I really am not that great in using them, i get the idea....i am all good until i get to "STEP 5" if someone could explain what in god's name that means and how to do it...i would really appreciate it...

FYI the movie i am trying to back up is Goodfellas!

To copy a double sided dvd to dvd-+r, use shrink
    1-Rip side "a" to harddrive
    2-Turn dvd over
3-Open shrink, open files, open side "a" from hard drive
4-re-author, drag side "a" over then go to dvd browser, browse to dvd drive and drag side "b" movie into reauthor window.
    5-Back up
    6-Burn

    Simple

DVD Shrink doesn't burn. Do you have any other burning program(s) besides Nero?
