Help with a hard drive

I have my friend's 40gb Seagate Barracuda ATA IV

I can't get my computer to read it so that I can format it to work in his Xbox.

Help.

Did you try the "How do I upgrade my HDD" section?

 

I've changed Xbox HDD's before, I just did mine last weekend with your tutorial, but, this HDD doesn't read when I put it in my PC.

 

Bad HDD? What type is it? Will it work as a PC HDD?

 

Don't worry about it we screwed with it in another computer and got it to work.
