Help with avi/mpeg to dvd

I reformatted my computer and now the last 4 things I burned would play fine on my computer but would be black and white on my dvd player. I used ConvertXtoDVD on 3 and UleadVideoStudio on another one. I have 2 dvd burners and tried both with same results. Tried in another dvd player with same results. I hate to keep wasting dvds and not get anywhere. Help, I've fallen and can't get up.

 

I forgot to add that there was no problem burning before reformat.

 

ok It seems that i had the settings in some of the proggys in auto when i should have set them to ntsf and that caused the problem
