Okay I just got my burner and since i don't really have any DVDs to backup, I wanted to burn a few TV Episodes that are in AVI format, DIVX 4 codec. Most are 320 x 420 or so for dimension. Heres the problem, I used the bundle software, WinDVD Creator, and when i tested it in two players it was choppy and the soudn was outta sync. I believe the compression software in the WindDVD was faulty?!? Umm.. what should I try? anyone try to burn this stuff before? Should i encode to MPEG?

Well, it definitely has to go to MPEG2 format.

Use TMPGEnc Plus to convert to MPEG2.

Author the DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author.

This process works 99 out of 100 times, but can still be fouled up by corrupt or otherwise improper avi files.
