help with encoding error

    hi,im trying to encode some divx video i have stored on my computer.i get an error saying "can`t open video part of xxxxxxxx only the audio part can be opened"
    i`ve tried encoding different video with no luck.
    any ideas?

    I hope you tried to use TMPGenc to encode it (AVI --> MPEG-1). I hope it is not corrupted. What happens if you open the same AVI with VirtualDub? And if you try to play it (e.g. WMP, BSPlayer)?
    And if you DivX compress a working movie (always using VirtualDub) you can encode it back to MPEG?
    If neither Virtualdub can open the first movie maybe there's a corruption. If no AVIs cannot be opened there's a DivX codec problem. We can try to do someting once we clarify the problem.
