A friend found a "rio s11" mp3 player and gave it to me. I have no cables for it, so I am trying to use an sd card for it. The player recognizes the sd card, but says there are no tracks on it. The sd card is formatted in FAT32. I tried mp3 files in the root directory, music, and tracks folders. Does anyone know how to make it play music from an sd card?

What size is the sd card?

I have only tried a 2gb sd card. The player reads it as 2gb, but says there are no songs on it.

If you have a smaller card, try that.

I've been told You need to get a firmware update from the rio website if you want to use 2gb sd cards. (you will need cables for this.) the firmware update will allow the Rio to see whats on the card.

    Hope this helps

I just ordered a cable from ebay. When I get it, I will try that. I will also try my 1gb sd card and see if that works. Thanks for the help.
