I recently downloaded and installed SP1 for my windows vista. I now have no sound. I tried to update the driver but it would not update. I removed the old driver but the sound devices in my device manager disapeared. Please help me get my sound back. When i go to my speaker i get a message that no audio output devices are installed.

It's not just me thats happened to then.

I have a Ceative X-Fi card and its happened several times now, with various updates.
The sound section shows the hardwae but it is greyed out and sys it is not available.

I basically disabled it, removed the current driver, rebooted pc, enabled card, did new install of drivers and then reboot and bingo.

3 times this has happened on a system thats only had Vista on for 2 months.
