I have an old white modded Xbox 360 and I'm a total newbie here. Here's what happened-

    1. I purchased a copy of assassin's creed revelations (not orginal)and inserted it inside and got an error message saying "update not found". I wasn't connected to Xbox live and I don't have the means to connect it to Xbox live

    2. I asked xbox customer support about this and they told me to download a System Update from their website and install it to Xbox via USB, which I did successfully.

    3. Since installing this system update, whenever I insert a game to play I get the option "Play DVD" instead of "Play disc" and it treats my game as a media DVD. Is this because of the system update which detected that my Xbox was modded? All the games were working fine before but now none of them work, all give the same error message.

    4. Is there any way to roll back to original settings i.e back to how it was BEFORE the update?

Please help me... I'm a total noob....

That system update you downloaded flashed your DVD drive to a new version of stock. You need to take your Xbox to whoever flashed it for you and get them to update it to LT 2.0.

Another question is how can I play new games such as assassins creed revelations and all which use XGD3 system or something like that without the system update? Do you suggest NOT INSTALLING system updates at all? What is LT 2.0? Sorry I'm a newbie at this stuff. Please tell me

HEY SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE !!

So the LT 2.0 update is only for users who want to play burned and back up XGD3 games right? and what sort of writer do you need to burn to Blue Ray discs?

Original Xbox users will be able to play original XGD3 games with the help of official system updates right?

Should I NOT INSTALL original system updates?

1.If I have a modded Xbox, should I get official updates from xbox website or should I not use official system updates?

    2. If I have old XGD3 games will the new XGD3 update by Microsoft affect me provided I don't update my Xbox or my games?

    1. Yes, provided you know they're safe. It's also advisable to flash your 360 back to stock firmware before doing a dashboard update.

    2. Yes, it will affect you. In fact, just having a 360 connected to Live means you can be affected, whether you do an update or not. MS can update the AP2.5 information used to protect all XGD3 games (and currently 6 XGD2 games) in the background now, which means you're highly likely to get your console flagged unless you have a drive that doesn't support AP2.5. If your drive does support AP2.5 and you've managed not to flag it yet, stay off Live altogether until LT+ 3.0 is released and your games have been repatched for it.

But whats the point of flashing the 360 back to stock firmware, the update does thatt anyway by default doesn't it?

What if I NEVER connect to LIVE and NEVER apply system updates which will re flash the Xbox to firmware version. Will I still need LT +3.0?
