    i just install a modem card and an ethernet card into my computer and where do i go to check to see if my computer detect both of them?

    what windows are you using. in win98 & me do a right hand click on my computer, left click properties & then device manager. in there go to network adapters & you'll see the netcard. above network adapters you'll find modem, open it & you'll see your modem. go to start-settings-control panel-modems. click on modems & see your modem, click on diagnostic & click the com port the modem is on & it will check the modem & give you reading. stay in control panel & go to network & it will show both dialup adapter(modem) & your netcard & tcp/ip for both
