Need a bit more info here erbman What kind of file to have? Is it like an avi and you need to convert it? Or are you backing up a dvd etc. Need to know what you are starting with and what you want the end result to be - I'm guessing a dvd that will play on a dvd player.

Ok - try this guide for DVDFab HD Decryper and Shrink. link. You can get the programs here - all free: DVDFab HD Decrypter. DVDFab Decrypter are the same - DVDFab HD is just the newer version name cause it now also includes ripping HD dvd. DVD Shrink ImgBurn It will go thru all the steps of ripping, encoding and burning to dvd.
