Ive been trying for a few days now to burn a dvd. I have dvd decryptor and Dvd shrink and im pretty sure i know how to use them pretty well..my problem comes after i get my .ISO file and i try to burn it into my DVD+R disk. The error message i get is Device not ready (no reference position found), and one my other computer i get Device not ready(no medium found) i am very frustrated with this.
if you have alcohol 120,you can use this to determine what media type is compatible with your drivers use the cd/dvd manager with regards hursty
i originally used memorex.. then returned them for sony dvd+r's. still the same problem. ill try alcohol 120%. ill try anything
i got alcohol 120 and i looked in the dvd/cd manager but where would it tell me which cds would be compatible.
i have also tried to burn with alcohol 120 but it wont let me select my favorite burner to use. is this because i have the trial version?
to see what media type your burners can use... cd.dvd manager>system info note:it wont tell you what brand you can use, just what type,i.e dvd-r/dvd+r etc etc.
I need help using my DVD decrypter.... it won't let me burn any thing and at the bottem of the window it says "Device not ready (medium not present)" Can anyone help?
Maybe your CD/DVD drive does not write CDs ("device not ready" is the error message you get if such is the case). I have a Compaq Presario with a "DVD/CD-RW 'combo' drive". I stupidly thought that meant it would read and write both CDs and DVDs. The documentation for the computer provides no info whatsoever. But technical support now tells me I cannot write DVDs. So why isn't the drive called "DVD-R/CD-RW"?
