hey question about dvd burners

    hi i have another problem, do you need a special dvd burner to burn double layer discs or can you use any? also, how do i know if the dvd burner i have is one that can burn double layer discs. it is a pioneer of some sort and about 6 months old thanks

    right click 'my computer' > properties
    on the hardware tab > device manager
    double click cd/dvdrom

    you should be finr burning DL with that drive

    thanks for that fellas, sorry i can't tell you the exact model it is, i can only have one dvd rom drive fitted at a time and at the moment its the new samsung one. i'll give it a try, but if the pioneer doesnm't work, can you recomend a good cheap one to get?

    sorry i just realised it may be written on the dvd drive. this is what it says:

    under the "mic" logo:
    PIO-DVR-112 (B)
    and under the code:
    DVR-112DBK

    Yes thats a good drive and Yes it burns DL media, so your fine
