hey can anyone tell me how to install a dvd burner into my computer
When you mean install, do you mean as installing a new dvd drive? or just software to do it.
oh i mean a new dvd burn not software
what drives do you have now??
first you have to find the dvd drive you want, with burning capabillites, * i would recomend zipzoomfly.com and xpcgear.com * next when you have it, you have to make sure you there are expansion bays on your case, next if all those apply above, open your case, place in correst spot, and plug the IDE cable to the dvd drive, and the power supply plug in,, i hope this explains, i suck at teaching , so let me know if you mist something.
oh k it that i want to buy a dvd burner tommorow but do i need like a spelifce dvd burner for my computer or can i use any dvd burn oh and my computer is a emachines
JagMan, shouldn't do multiple postings on same subject as per forum rules above.
what emachine do you have, how much ram, how big is your hd & the free space remaining on your hd??
iight my bad im srry
oh my ram is 375 and it is a window xp with a 40gb and a dvd play and a cd rw and i dont know how much hp are left can u tell me how do i find that out
do a right click on your c:drive either in my computer or thru windows explorer. than click on properties which will tell you what size id drive is, whats used & what is free. how many 5.25" bays do you have & are any empty??
oh used is 4.31 and free is 32.9
& what bays do you have left as it appears you have a dvd drive & a cd writer drive
do you know your way around a computer from the inside? like the IDE ports, and the power supply ??
how do i check my bay
same size as your cd/dvd rom drives but with a blank faceplate if you have an empty bay.
Liez4Love, i don't think he knows by his last post
you could buy from a local seller and ask them to install it
installing a dvd drive is easy, just look at your computer right now, at the inside, do you see how your dvd drive is in? do the same exact with the new drive,
except you have to uninstall the old one, and install the new one
Separate names with a comma.
