i wouldn't recommend princos, try ritek, tdk, verbatim, or fujifilms.
What do you mean for larger games?
DVD Decrypter should be able to handle almost any game.

out of all the ps2 games that are on DVD, i only thing there is one that is greater than 4 gb, dont know what its called, so i wouldn't worry about games being bigger than a blank dvd size. as for media, i find imation DVD-r's work the best on my ps2.

As for what kind of media you should use. I suggest you try one brand at a time till you come to one that works for you and then stick with it. Some people frown upon what they call cheap media like Memorex, Imitation and Princo. But I have found Memorex DVD-R to be excellent without a bad backup yet. Though on the other hand their +R media seems to be touch and go.
