I've been reading for weeks now, and all I've read was up to 200 gig.

Now I'm reading that some people are using 300 gig, can you utilize the whole drive, or just 200 (189) gig of it?

I got a 300 gig Maxtor for my Xbox and a 200 gig Maxtor for my PS2. I would've just gotten two 300's had I known I could use it to it's full potential on my PS2.

For the record, I got a brand-new Seagate Barracuda 300GB ATA/100 7200 RPM 8MB Cache 3.5-inch Hard Drive Model# ST3300831A-RK and it works fine. When you format it, you will be able to use between 276-279gb. I have yet to have a problem with it ... it works awesome and I got a 5-year warranty, I believe.

thats because 300gb hard drives actually are 279 gigabytes. You can download the hacked version of hd loader and patch it to use hard drives as big as you want.
