Someone modded my Wii with wii key. NTSC backups of both Wii and gamecube games works fine but how do I enable the wii to play PAL Gamecube backups? Thanks.

I have a PAL Wii and I am able to play NTSC-U gamecube backups with one condition... I had to burn the backup on its own disc (not a multi ISO disc), then it played flawlessly. Mind you, I was trying to add it to a multi ISO disc with PAL games.....

I burned 3 Pal GC games, each on its own disk without multi-isos, but it still wouldn't work.

Have you updated your Wiikey to 1.9g?

Also, if you perform a Wii system update, the Wiikey may reset to region override being set to off.

Wiikey config 1.3 has an extra option to enable GC region free (said to work for ALL GC games) but you MUST enable the Wii region free option too.

If you can't boot config 1.3, proceed as follows......

    1 - Boot config 1.2
2 - Set region free to 'on'
    3 - Save settings
    4 - Boot config 1.3
5 - Set GC region free to 'on'
    6 - Save settings

(note: when you boot config 1.3, it will say that Wii region free is set to off, this is because of the Wiikey stealth capabilities. It does no harm to set it to on again though)

    These steps worked for me.

You can download the config discs from this thread..........

It is an excellent guide for updating the Wiikey.
