Hi Ray i have : samsung dvd-rom sd-616t necdvd+rw nd-1100a `120gb ultra ATA 100 HARD drive hope this is what your asking for..thx for any help bob
I had the same NEC 1100A with my Dell. You can only burn +R and +RW (rewritable) at maximum speed 4X for +R and 2.4X for +RW. BTW, you can just type "nec 1100a" into Google for a million specs on the drive. Other thing - make sure you have the latest drivers. The lastest firmware version is GE. Get it here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?releaseid=r59801&c=us&l=en&s=gen&cs=

Here is another info site for burner drives. This site will also show what media is best for your drive. Once on the site, click dvd writers on the left side, then type in your model in the search block. http://www.videohelp.com. Jerry
