How do I find Motherboard and bios info

    I have an older HP Pavillion 7960 and need to reload the bios, HP has no bios update for this computer can I get one from the mobo manufacturer and how do I find out which mobo it has?

    I often encounter these older HP or PB rigs.
    If you are searching, it will help you to remove one 'L' and spell Pavilion.
    My info is, Pentium III - 1.3GHz or so, Intel chipset.
    Your board could be Asus, but I heard warnings you must use only HP BIOS...
    Could be Asus A7V-VM or WMT-LX.
    Get all info from mobo you can, read fineprint :)
    ID chipset. Is it Intel 850?
    Run with the BIOS you have; search for updated one is fraught with perils.

    Thanks for your help, but HP has no update for this bios thats why I asked if I could get one from the motherboard manufacturer or at this point get the original bios, since it was corrupted.
