How do I set up for VHS to VCD

What is the hardware configuration for VHS to VCD?

I hook up my VCR to my Video capture card and get the video on my computer but no sound?

Will the sound be encoded even though I can't hear it?

    Thanks

Well, your video capture card should have manual with it that pretty much sums the process, but generally the audio goes into sound card, not into capture card.

All the audio to my sound card is fine, I just wondered why the sound isn't there when I play a VHS into my computer?

Audio has to be available and hearable (spelling, uh.). Anyway, the audio should go into audio card's line-in or mic plug and you need to use Windoze's Volume properties to check that those are in use and that their level is correct.
