How do I shrink movie files?

    How do I shrink movie files like avi, wmv, ect. so I can burn it to one cd. I tried using nero to burn but the movies dont fit. Is there a program I can shrink movie files?

    cd or DVD disks, it makes a difference in how the question is answered? I'll assume you mean DVD...

    If you want to shrink these movie files to fit onto a single layer DVD, you'll have to convert them to a DVD compliant format first. There are many ways of doing this (some free-some not), I have and use convertxtodvd for the conversion process, convertxtodvd can also shrink the file size to fit onto a DVD-5 disk (set for a file size of 4300MB) and then burn the file to disk for you.

    Convertxtodvd is not free, but if interested and do this often, look here:

    For .avi files, a free option is avi2dvd, it will convert the files for you to a DVD compliant format, you can get it here along with guides on using it with other free apps to complete the process.

    Note: If you have a full version of nero (not an oem), nerovision can also be used for the conversion process.
